Baptism 3-13-2010

Here are the wonderful people we have had the privilege of teaching. This has been soooo fun.

First is Tammy. She is married to Albert who was a less-active member. Albert's foster parents came down from Bountiful for the baptism. They were thrilled that Albert and Tammy are active and doing well.

Next is Shanelle and Stacy. They are good friends of Tracy. WOW! what great girls. They are so excited to be members. They come from a less-active family. Maybe they can be examples to the others.

Next is Thomas. His family are active. His 8 year old daughter is waiting for her Dad to get baptized and get the Priesthood so he can baptize her. He was very thoughtful and studied it out carefully before he finally agreed to be baptized. He was worried about what his parents would say. When he talked to his parents about it he found out his dad is a member.

Remember Tracy and Miguel that we baptized a few months ago? This is Miguel's little sister and new baby brother. Tracy is holding her little cousin. Are they cute or what?

3-12-2010 We took a drive with Elder and Sister Cain (from Moses Lake, WA) around Window Rock, the capitol city for the Navajo Nation. In the name-sake city park there were cows grazing. The park is by the "Window Rock" and has a monument to the "Code Talkers" from World War II. Rent the movie or look it up on the Internet if you don't know who the Code talkers were. Their story is quite fascinating. There are only 3 of the original ones left.

House Tour- Lana's Request

Our humble abode at the end of the church parking lot. The kitchen looking out into the living room. The rest of the kitchen. The dining area and Native American Collection. Not quite as exciting as your's Lana, but quite nice and serviceable for our needs.

My favorite wall- has all the family pictures. My study/library where I spend my computer time. My living room where I spend as little time as possible (most uncomfortable furniture you have ever seen). Bathroom- quite adequate. The bedroom where you have to say your prayers at the end of the bed because there is not room at the side. Well, there it is all 600 square feet of it.

Dennehotso Church

They're starting to build the church at Dennehotso. We have been meeting in the Chapter House, which is like City Hall. There are a lot of people who said they would not come to church until we got a real church house built. This is creating a lot of stir in town. Now they will not have any excuse. It should be done by May. It is not very large but the most we have ever had to church is 53 so it should be quite adequate.
